Jeff has defended tort claims made against a wide range of professionals and businesses.  He is comfortable in the courtroom, possessing an ability to process facts and arguments in ways that are persuasive to the average juror.    

This work has included the following: 

• Obtained a no-liability finding for an Oklahoma-based securities broker and a financial planner in a National Association of Securities Dealers arbitration in which the claimant sought $2 million in damages alleging negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, and violations of state and federal securities laws 
• Secured an order of dismissal on statute of limitations grounds for a registered representative in a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority arbitration against claims of more than $1 million in damages.
• Earned an order of dismissal for a registered representative in a FINRA arbitration on the basis that the registered representative was not involved in the sale of the security to his customer. 

• Obtained a summary judgment for an insurance agent after a customer sued for negligence related to a denied fire claim. 
• Obtained a summary judgment for an architect in a multi-million-dollar construction defect/personal injury case. 
• Secured a summary judgment that was upheld on appeal for an appraiser and his firm in a dispute over the purchase of an apartment complex.  
• Won a no-liability finding in a wrongful death action filed against a Texas assisted living facility against allegations of negligence and intentional injury to an elderly individual. 
• Obtained a summary judgment for a lawyer and firm in a legal malpractice claim arising out of a will, deed, and subsequent litigation. 

• Successfully argued a summary judgment for an insurance agent after a customer sued for negligence, fraud, and breach of contract related to a denied claim. 

• Named to the list of Texas Super Lawyers by Thomson Reuters, 2014-2022.
• Named to the list of Texas Rising Stars by Thomson Reuters, 2004-2011, 2013.
