Known by her clients for her dedicated and resourceful approach to advocacy, Stacy Bruce is passionate when working on her clients’ behalf. In recent years, Stacy’s practice has primarily focused on assisting employers:
  • Drafting customized employment policies and handbooks
  • Training managers and employees on best workplace practices
  • Counselling employers on the legal implications of routine employment decisions involving hiring, disciplining, enforcing employment policies, reductions in force, and terminations
  • Investigating complaints of harassment or discrimination

In these regards Stacy regularly handles claims before the Texas Workforce Commission, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the U.S. Department of Justice.

Stacy is someone clients turn to with the issues they face as employers and business owners, including issues involving employment law and practices, professional liability claims, premises liability claims, product liability claims, and landlord/tenant issues.  With her knowledge and experience, Stacy is a resource for her clients, providing them with information, expertise, and guidance. In addition, Stacy regularly handles her own appeals after prevailing in the trial courts.  


Stacy has successfully resolved numerous claims through informal settlement negotiations and mediations in order to avoid disruptive and protracted litigation.  In many cases that were not resolved through settlement negotiations, Stacy obtained summary judgment or dismissal on the merits in a variety of areas in which she practices, including lawsuits involving employers, health care professionals, title companies, officers and directors, mortgage brokers, and apartment complexes and their management companies.

Representative Engagements:

  • Dismissal of an employment discrimination and retaliation lawsuit in which the plaintiff sued under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, and The Employee Retirement Income Security Act, seeking over $1 million in damages. Affirmed by the Fifth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court denied certiorari
  • Successfully defended an employer from a defamation claim in a summary judgment case
  • Successfully negotiated numerous wage and hour class action lawsuits to achieve favorable settlements
  • Dismissal of a mortgage broker against a plaintiff alleging fraud and seeking over $100,000 in damages
  • Dismissals of numerous premises liability claims against a retailer and apartment complexes
  • Successfully defended a home inspector in a trial before a judge obtaining a take-nothing judgment
  • Dismissals of numerous claims against healthcare professionals who provide healthcare to correctional facilities, long-term care facilities, and rehabilitation facilities
