CMW Message About COVID-19 Update

On March 12, 2020, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins issued a Declaration of Local Disaster for Public Health Emergency due to a novel coronavirus which causes the disease COVID-19. On the same day, Judge Jenkins issued an Order to “protect the safety and welfare of the public by slowing the spread of the virus.”

On March 22, 2020, Judge Jenkins issued an Amended Order titled “Stay Home Stay Safe” which amounts to a stay-at-home order for Dallas County residents effective as of 11:59 p.m. on March 23, 2020 until 11:59 p.m. on April 3, 2020. On April 3, 2020, Judge Jenkins extended the order through April 30, 2020, unless rescinded, superseded or amended. A copy of the Amended Order is linked here. The Order also calls for the temporary closure of the physical offices of all but what it defines as Essential Businesses.

Cobb Martinez Woodward PLLC is doing its part to respond responsibly to the COVID-19 pandemic and to comply with these orders. Here is how we intend to honor and strengthen our commitment to you as we navigate this crisis.
The health and safety of all members and employees of our firm, and of our clients, are of paramount concern.
Our physical office in downtown Dallas is temporarily closed. But our lawyers remain fully functioning and our remote operations are working smoothly. You should not notice any difference in phone or email communications with us.
The Dallas County order exempts some professional services (including law and accounting) “necessary to assist in compliance with legally mandated activities.” We continue to meet legal deadlines and comply with court orders. We expect for our other work to be carried out without delay or interruption.
We invite you to contact us if you have any concerns or questions about how we are responding to these events.
We wish each of you, your family, and your colleagues continued success and good health.
